Abstract
This study aims to examine the mechanism of chicken manure trading and to explore the Islamic perspective on this practice at the Nendagung Terminal, South Pagar Alam District, Pagar Alam City. A qualitative research method was employed, with data collected through triangulation techniques. The data analysis was conducted inductively, emphasizing meaning rather than generalization. The findings reveal that the sale of chicken manure for use as fertilizer is permissible in Islam as long as it provides benefits to the wider community. According to the Hanafi school of thought, impure items such as animal waste or garbage may be lawfully traded if they have a beneficial use, particularly in agriculture and plantation sectors. Such waste can also serve as fuel or plant fertilizer. The trading mechanism at Nendagung Terminal is based on farmers’ orders, where buyers pay upon the collection of the goods as per their request. The price is IDR 25,000 for a full sack and IDR 15,000 for a half sack, with payment made at the time of transaction in accordance with mutual agreement.
